England here we come.....

Woop Woop!! We are sooooooo excited. 4pm tommorrow we leave our house, drive for an hour, check in, drive on board the BIG ferry and enjoy the next 18 hours (which of course will be pleasant as I have arranged with the weatherman for the wind to stop.... )!
I'm not stressed about packing because there's no weight limit and I can take more or less what I want! Are we ever gonna fly again (hmm.. probably depends on how sea sick I get...)?

10 days we're staying at Nana and Papa's seeing aunties, uncle, cousin and friends. The princess and little man are soooo excited about the Easter Egg hunt. I'm excited about the clothes shopping, the daddy can't wait for Indian take away!

I will probably not have much time writing any blogs but not to worry. I will tell you all about our Easter holiday.

Are you looking forward to Easter? What are you doing?

Happy Easter.

Simple as that.....

Is what our wedding is gonna be like. We like simple and I think it's very classy. I'm not very classy, a hippie is what my mother-out-law calls me! She's probably right.... That doesn't mean the wedding can't be just a tat classy, does it? Anyhow, as I said, simple is the way for us!
Tables will be have a white velour table cloth on and one red flower in a slim vase! There'll be red and blue balloons on the walls and then the princess, little man and I have made these...

They will all be hung up on a string with sweet little pegs on the wall between the balloons! Sweet, homemade, therefore cheap and very simple.
The food will be a buffet, nice, simple but delicious summer food! The daddy and the princess are so excited about the dessert.
It's a daytime wedding and we want people to relax and enjoy themselves.

What d'ya think?

Early Easter....

We had the family around for an early Easter. The princess and I made these little chicks to decorate the Easter eggs with.

Have a great weekend.

...but its the Queen's language and we will continue to speak it the Queen's way!!

My father-out-law (soon to be in law) sent me this. English is not my mother language tongue but I thought it was very funny! The daddy is now fluent in Danish and learning the language made it clear that Danish grammar is all over the place too.......
 The English Plural
according to ....

 We'll begin with a box, and the plural is boxes,
But the plural of ox becomes oxen, not oxes;
One fowl is a goose, but two are called geese,
Yet the plural of moose should never be meese;
You may find a lone mouse or a nest full of mice,
Yet the plural of house is houses, not hice.

If the plural of man is always called men,
Why shouldn't the plural of pan be called pen ?
If I speak of my foot and show you my feet,
And I give you a boot, would a pair be called beet ?
If one is a tooth and a whole set are teeth,
Why shouldn't the plural of booth be called beeth ?

Then one may be that, & three would be those,
Yet hat in the plural would never be hose;
And the plural of cat is cats, not cose.
We speak of a brother & also of brethren,
But though we say mother, we never say methren.
Then the masculine pronouns are he, his & him,
But imagine the feminine: she, shis & shim !

Let's face it - English is a crazy language.
There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger;
Neither apple nor pine in pineapple.
English muffins weren't invented in England.

We take English  for granted,
but if we explore its paradoxes,
We find that quicksand can work slowly,
boxing rings are square;
A guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.
Why is it that writers write, but fingers don't fing,
Grocers don't groce & hammers don't ham ?

 Doesn't it seem crazy that ...
you can make amends but not one amend ?
If you have a bunch of odds and ends ...
and get rid of all but one of them,
What do you call it ?

If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught ?
If a vegetarian eats vegetables,
what does a humanitarian eat ?

Sometimes I think all people who speak English
Should be in an asylum for the verbally insane.
In what other language do people recite at a play,
and play at a recital ?

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language
in which your house can burn up as it burns down;
In which you fill in a form by filling it out,
& in which an alarm goes off by going on.

If Father is Pop ....
how come Mother's not Mop ? ? ?

A black eye... Can you spot it??

Apparently the daddy has gotten himself a black eye! Well.... a bruise is what I think it looks more like but lets leave it for now! It was playing football the other night that got him the bruise. Ups sorry... black eye. Apparently from heading the ball! I took the picture which made him feel better and maybe you guys can clear up, whether it's a bruise or a black eye??

Or is it a bruise......????

Sleepover and MacDonalds.

The princess is having a sleepover at school tonight. Just her class, 28 very excited 6 year olds are now (it's 11pm here) probably whispering, trying to go to sleep. I dropped the very excited princess off earlier at 5pm. They were going to have burgers for dinner, be dancing to disco music, have popcorn and lemonade with funny straws to drink from!

So, left with mummy and daddy, was the little man. Thought he could have a little treat so a Happy Meal was picked up. He was very happy but did ask for a cucumber which he ate first.
No toy in the Happy Meal but instead a little activity book and a pencil. Good one MD!!! The little man spent 45 minutes after dinner colouring in, drawing and writing in his little book.
Very happy with himself he sat back on the couch and declared "I'm tired now". I think he found it tiring having to entertain his mummy and daddy all alone! We can be high maintenance....

Boys and their toys.....

I'm joining the Snap Slappers over at Five Go Blogging with this picture. It's daddy's favourite toy so why not follow in his daddy's footsteps! The little man loves it when he's allowed a bit of computer time. Hmmm... might have gone a bit overboard slapping things on the picture this time!!

Frogs! A very scary little creature....

Don't you think? Honestly guys help me out here, they're horrible little creatures aren't they? No?! So it's just me then who hates them....
The one night a week the daddy is not home because he plays football, a frog shows up at the garden door. That's our cat Muffin's door, she's a very clever cat and knocks on it to be let in. (read) I'm relaxing on the sofa enjoying the fact that 'Medical Night' is finally back on TV, (read) when I hear this little 'knock knock'. Presuming it's Muffin I get up and go to open the door. It's a FROG..... Shock horror!!! What to do, what to do..... I slam the door before it can come in. I'm screaming with no sound, don't want to wake the children. I think the frog is trapped in the door but no way can I check. It has to wait for the daddy to get back home. Almost, only almost as bad, I'm missing most of Medical Night. Seriously frog, why Monday...??
The daddy arrives home 20 minutes later to find me very hysterical, terrified, crying and all over the place. I'm sent to our bedroom to watch TV, door closed, the daddy is dealing with the frog!!!
I'll spare you the details but end of story is, the frog was still very much alive but removed from our premises!

What's your biggest fear?? As you probably guessed, mine is frogs!

I know it's spring.....

When these little flowers show up in our garden.....
When I have more salad on my plate than pasta and meat!
When the princess draws a lovely picture like this.....
 When the little man and princess wear sunglasses.....

When the children play in the garden until dinner time because it's light enough....

When ice cream is needed more and more....

When do you know spring is here??

Cool uncle has done it again......

He's written another brilliant song which you lucky readers can see here. The video is so cute and the song just so lovely. I'll let you listen now...

So what do you think? We think he's amazing and the princess and little man think he's the coolest uncle in the world!!

Had to change the "The List"

Remember the "The List" ?? I've had to change mine. First I saw Crazy Stupid Love with Ryan Gosling. Then the other day I saw Drive also with Ryan Gosling. Uh... suddenly realised my List needed updating but who had to go? I haven't changed it for years so you understand this was a difficult decision to make. Sorry Frederik but you've got to go... So now it's official, Ryan Gosling has knocked The Prince of Denmark off my List!  It was never that realistic with him anyway, way too much security....
Anyway here he is the new one on my List....

Do you allow changes on your List? If you have one that is....

Parents day at the princess' school.

Friday it was exactly that! I went and got to see what the princess does at school. All the children were very excited and eager to show off what they knew. This is the princess in her maths class, drawing shapes and playing a number matching game.

The daddy, princess and little man play school a lot at the moment. The daddy is the teacher and when they answer correct they get a tick like this followed by the daddy saying "kerching".

Nothing wrong in that really, is there....? Well, no but it has resulted in the little man not knowing a tick was called "tick".
Him and the daddy were playing a game together on the computer. An option on the screen appeared and a tick was needed. So the little man said:
"Look daddy, it's a kerching"!
